We here at Miami Web Design try to learn the most we can about website content. After all, that is a website’s bread and butter. Without content a potential customer would not know what the company has to offer; and if the content isn’t good then your competitors may beat you out.
Recently we have been studying grammar in websites, and we’ve noticed that the most popular websites do not use the best grammar. Instead, they use what sounds good.
You may sound jaded and out-of-touch with reality if you follow all grammar rules. The reason for this is because most people do not use perfect grammar when communicating, instead they use colloquial rules and words.
You want the people visiting your website to connect with you, so that you can appear the most familiar and friendliest choice to them. A large part in choosing a service or company is the way the customer identifies with the company, and whether he or she can see themselves shopping or working with the company.
Use what sounds right, even though some times it may be wrong. And don’t worry about making mistakes, unless you are speaking to the Dean of Admissions at Cambridge University no one will be peeved if you said “it is me” instead of “it is I.”
