Okay, so they’re cool, but are they effective?

We’re talking about Touchscreen Tablets. Miami Web Design Pro loves playing with the newest web design gadgets, because let’s face it: we’re a bunch of geeks. When we’re designing a website we prefer to start our ideas on paper. Rome wasn’t built in a day, and a great website wasn’t immediately begun it requires planning. Most designers use sketchpads or just plain ol’ paper, but in today’s day-and-age a sketchpad is become quite rustic, and unpractical because of the size. Okay so what’s the solution? Well you can scan it but it might not be as crisp, or look at good. Or you can take a picture, but we all know the quality won’t be the same. So what’s the real solution? Well Touchscreen Tablets may just do the trick.

Although tablets have improved since they first came out, there is still plenty of room for improvement. For one a tablet isn’t as big as a pad, or a big piece of paper. They are typically smaller than regular printer paper, and that’s a problem. Another problem is that they don’t sense pressure, so shading and emphasis is out of the question. Not to mention that none of the latest tablets can produce ballpoint precision, that’s why all the tips are large for tablet pens. Which isn’t convenient for minor details between areas.

With all that being said in our opinion they are still great tools, which won’t be working with them just yet. Not until the following things are fixed:
1. Increased Precision. We don’t care if it comes from the actual tablet, the stylus, or the software. As long as it’s more precise for our specific details. And we want it to be done without unusually slow lapses or tedious zooming.
2. A Universal Stylus. Well we know that won’t happen, because different projects require different tools. And maybe we’re just being spoiled, but we’d love a stylus for every occasion.
3. Alternative tablet sizes. We want a small, a medium, and a large tablet. We know, we know, we’re asking for too much.
