We here at Miami Web Design Pro always love an information boost, and our friends at Marketingprofs just fed our vice with their comparison of the three social networking power houses. While the three are alike in several ways, for one they let us stalk those around us, they are very different. Below we will compare the three outlets.
Facebook. Facebook works because it lets people stay in contact and retain their relationships in a simple and user-friendly kind-of way. It’s downfall is that it does not understand that not all relationships are the same and that not every person one knows can just fall under one category of “friends.” Some people are not meant to mix in the same circle, and some information is not meant to be shared with certain individuals.
Facebook did try to alleviate their problem by using “groups,” but no one really adopted them. Google+, on the other hand, uses circles that you immediately group your friends into as soon as you add one another.
Facebook does know what it is doing though, for example when one wants to become friends with another there needs to be consent. Those mutual, reciprocal “friendships” help keep the relationships and content on Facebook relevant. As a result, the signal-to-noise ratio on Facebook is fairly high compared with other networks that require only unidirectional consent, such as Twitter. But it can hinder someone’s network growth rate because it requires the coordination of two individuals.
Twitter. As we mentioned above, unless your profile is private, Twitter does not require consent from another person to follow them. There is greater growth potential, even with its 140-character limit. For example, the average path length between any two people of Facebook is 5.73 degrees of separation, but when it comes to Twitter it is 4.12.
The reason Twitter works is because it is so minimal and simple, it requires almost no effort to adopt. But just because it is easy to adopt does not mean it is here to stay. In fact the number of active members on the site is actually quite underwhelming. A significant number of Twitter accounts are inactive, and many active members are bots. And because it is unidirectionally connected content is less relevant. A significant number of Twitter accounts are inactive, and many active members are bots. Twitter relationships aren’t as strong as Facebook’s.
Google+. Google+, like Twitter, only requires unidirectionally consent to connect. It is done to combat Facebook’s complicated alignment with users, but it does make it noisier, but that is combatted by circles. There should be a disclaimer though, if people fail to put individuals into the correct circles it can end up like a glorified Twitter. And even if they do categorize people into the correct circles no one knows whether or not it will be strong enough of a filter to curate the noise.
Google+ tried handling both of it’s problems by making the Circle Editor stylish and fun. And to deal with receiver curation the circles feature enables for sender curation. This means that users can select who they share information with using a combination of individual users, circles, extended circles, and the public. LinkedIn and Facebook also have the feature, it just all depends on how many people use it.
Google+ adds another factor to the table – community-building. Google+ has made it easy for people to find content they are interested in via Spark, and users can use Hangout if they want to video group chat with up to 10 people.
So who wins? While Google+ does have a lot of essential features, human relationships are each unique, and while circles do alleviate the matter, it does not solve the problem when it comes to social networking. For Google+ to win it needs to gain users who are very popular and who will bring with them their posse; because as of right now, Facebook is still 70 times larger than Google+.
Facebook has families, close friends, high school friends, etc. That is why it is so successful, because people want to stay there because of the ties. A lot is lost by converting to Google+, and here is where the catch-22 arises, the users Google+ needs, the one with many friends, are the ones that will be hardest to obtain because they will not want to leave Facebook. And users who have few friends are easier to switch, but do not bring that much influence or authority.
Not to mention that both Facebook and Twitter have apps, softwares, and entire industries that risen from their platforms. Those relationships are not about to disappear over night with the rise of Google+.
We guess we don’t know who is going to win, just yet. For now we will enjoy the fragmented networking marketplace with various outlets. And we are going to enjoy as they compete against one another, because that only means good things for the consumer as they come up with new designs and innovations.

You should be ashamed for voting for someone that would not release any personal records. He is a socialist muslim bent on destroying our country. You need to get off the koolaid

I believe you may have sent the wrong spam message. Nice try though.

Send Lincecum away. Send Sandoval away. With the right GM and the right manager, you could set your team up for a decade of success. People will hate you if you fuck up, but people already hate the Giants front office. A small fire in the marketing office would work wonders.
