One of the first pages a customer visits while on a site is the “About Us” page; it tells the customer who you are, what you are about, what you do, and how you do it. Missing About pages are a major reason for visitors’ choosing to leave sites without conducting business. Not only can your “About Us” page provide information, it can also be a source of inbound links and page ranks. It can either be used as an arsenal of information or a down-ward spiral into the pits of bad representation.

Your About page should have various levels of information, so that your potential customers can get a full-idea of who you are and what your company does. First, you should have a tag line, a brief, yet informative, summary about what your company does. You should also have a plethora of details. Besides the obvious information, you should tell your customers what your goals, accomplishments, and ideals are. After your summaries you should have a fact sheet. A fact sheet is a simple list on key points and other essential facts about the organization. And lastly, additional information will always help you, not hinder you. Add subsidiary pages providing more in-depth or specialized information about the organization.

You need to appear transparent and attainable, your customers want to know who you are so that they can conduct business with you. When writing your content think about what your customers may want to know, and what questions they may ask.
