Katy Perry has taken the Facebook Timeline to a truly good place. Considering the backlash that the new Timeline feature has received since it went live, and also became a requirement for all Facebook users, it’s nice to see some praise for anything to do with timeline.
Although it may be a well-done music video rather than people actually clamoring about how much they love the timeline feature, at least this may present the possibility for Facebook users to look at this format in a different way.
Perry’s video is for her song “Wide Awake” and is more a ‘lyric video’ then a full-production one like her typical music videos that follow plotlines, include famous actors and special effects. However, even without all the bells and whistles, Perry’s new video seems to be doing well. Even though there are always detractors, even those that don’t like timeline, chimed in to praise her video: “awesome video katy, even_ if i don’t like timelines :S,” wrote YouTube user renokevas on the comments section for her video.
This lyric video using Timeline was quite appropriate for Perry considering the past few years of her life have been marked with highly publicized professional and personal successes and “milestones.” After her song “Part of Me” became known to everyone as her musical message to Russell Brand after their divorce, “Wide Awake” seems to show that she is moving past her personal difficulties and taking them all as a part of her journey, which after all, seems to be the point of the Facebook Timeline with it’s milestones and featured posts sections. Kudos, Katy Perry for showing that Timeline does have value.

bye default landing tabs. You’ll also notice that the landing tabs have now disappeared. This can be a change that some nonprofits really don’t like. But there is actually a new feature
